Our Team

Gary Ellis Byrd

Gary Ellis Byrd had been working in the legal field since 1975, having graduated from Troy State University number 1 in his class of 1979, having received a secondary degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and having graduated from the University of Alabama Law School in 1982.

Gary entered private legal practice in Talbotton, Georgia in 1983 and has been practing in Hamilton, Harris County, since September 1987. Gary changed his law practice in 1996 from a small town general practice in all areas of law including criminal defense and domestic relations, to practice in the areas of real estate closings, real estate civil litigation, quiet title, wills, trust, estate plannings, guardianships,  probate litigation, business formation, mining and natural resource law, business taxation, and serving as local municipal attorney.

Gary taught law classes for three years for Gordon Junior College and currently lectures at Callaway Gardens and other local venues regarding estate planning, general probate law, general real estate law, and Medicaid Recovery.

Gary and his staff have a proven track record of successfully completing for clients more that 98% of all legal projects in all his fields of practice. He always carefully evaluates projects and sets realistic goals, while trying to keep legal expenses as low as possible.

Gary's hobbies are model trains, NASCAR, studying World War II, his music collection, and Alabama football. He is married to Emily Byrd and has three daughters.

Gary has been listed in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in America for the past 15 years.  

Becky C. Pattillo

Becky C. Pattillo began working as a legal secretary at our office in 1987. She completed paralegal training, receiving her paralegal degree from Columbus Technical College in 1998, so she has 26 years of experience in the legal field.

Becky is a native of Meriwether County, Georgia. She is often complimented on her thoroughness. Whenever possible, she takes a leading role on seeing that projects are completed.

Her many areas of expertese include preclosing, closing and post closing in real estate transactions, preparing drafted wills, trusts, power of attorney, deeds and civil litigation papers. She has many years experience in issuing real estate title insurance and passes an audit of all matters related to issuance of title insurance on a biennial basis.

Becky assists in the preparation of business formation documents for corporations and LLC's, and prepation of documents related to local municipal government, mining and natural resource law, and business estate tax returns.

Vicki Kober

Vicki Kober opens our office every morning and has been doing so for almost 12 years. Vicki is a native of Meriwether County, Georgia and moved to Harris County in 1992. She worked in the newspaper industry from 1992 until 2001.

Vicki came to work as a legal secretary at our office in 2001. Among her many duties are scheduling appointments, book keeping for clients and our trust accounts, general typing, starting client files and supervising proper storage of client files and document courier. She assists with post closing on real estate projects, filing court papers and notary and witness functions for estate planning, wills and real estate projects. She also serves as our liason with the local newspaper publisher. Vicki is always cheerful, with a joke to tell and dedicated to the comfort of all of our clients.
